I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) based in Sacramento, California, with training in nutritional science, counseling, and eating behaviors. Becoming an RDN is a lengthy process, including earning an advanced degree, a 1,200-hour internship, and a rigorous exam—and then continuing professional education for life! That means the guidance I offer is informed, evidence-based, and steers clear of fads and empty promises. My practice is weight-neutral and highly personalized—my goal is for YOU to feel YOUR best, whether that means identifying the best foods for your lifestyle, health conditions, and needs; making peace with food; or replacing stress with sustainability by ditching diets and discovering healthy, realistic meals and snacks. Though I welcome clients with an array of nutritional concerns, my primary clinical interests are digestive issues and diabetes/pre-diabetes. I have training in the FODMAP elimination/reintroduction protocol for IBS management from Monash University (the folks who first identified the role of FODMAPs in IBS), which has been shown to be very effective in reducing symptoms. I am also interested in the role of the microbiome in digestive conditions as well as the ways it can help with blood sugar management and overall health. My approach is food-first—you will never leave an appointment with a long and expensive shopping list of unproven supplements, mystery potions, or foods that don't fit with your traditions, culture, and taste. Of course, food is only part of the picture—behaviors, habits, and emotions around eating are part of being human, but sometimes they can interfere with our quality of life and our health. Though complex and sometimes mysterious, eating behaviors are worth exploring, and I’m here to support that process.
Good nutrition and a joyful relationship with food are within reach—that’s the destination, and I look forward to being your guide!
Alongside my work as an RDN, I am also an editor and writer with two decades of experience. I have worked as an editor for book publishers, websites, and magazines, and have published two books. My editorial career has included developing and editing recipes, food writing, nutritional analysis, content consultation, and editing material by and for health professionals.
